Process Monitoring and Investigation

Protea can monitor processes and emissions in detail, to assess operating problems in equipment or simply to confirm calculations and provide data for mass balances. This typically involves continuous profiling techniques measuring concurrently at multiple points in the process, alongside process observations by Protea or the customer.

Typically plant monitoring is more challenging due to presence of wide concentration ranges and multiple phases. Examples of plant & equipment monitoring are:

• Condenser inlet and outlet (also see abatement)
• Distillation column heads and tray compositions
• Process reactions

One example is the monitoring of ammonia and hydrogen from a process reaction.
