New Intrinsically Safe Logging Gas Flowmeter Protea is pleased to announce the first sales of its new model PF100 flowmeter. The logging flowmeter has a large measuring range and the ability to detect very low flows. The measuring sensor and signal cable are intrinsically safe and robust, intended for critical and difficult measurements such as chemical plant vents and stack testing applications. The sensor uses thermal mass technology to measure flow rates from under 0.1 m/s to 40 m/s in pipe sizes upwards of 50mm diameter. The meter is programmable for gas composition and pipe diameter. It directly displays the velocity of gases flowing in a pipe. All readings are displayed on the control box, and if used with the flow logging option, can be viewed as real time velocity profiles. The data can be easily downloaded and transferred into other programs such as spreadsheets.
