UKAS MCERTS Acceditation Protea becomes first UK company to receive UKAS/MCERTS accreditation for multi-component FTIR monitoring

Protea Ltd are delighted to announce that they have been awarded MCERTS accreditation by UKAS for stack emissions monitoring and analysis using FTIR. The advanced monitoring teams have uniquely been accredited for the measurement of NH3, HCl, HF, Amines, Formaldehyde as well all speciated VOCs and combustion gases using ASTM D6348-03. UKAS accreditation was also granted for monitoring and analysis of carbon tetrachloride, chloroform, dichloromethane and propylene oxide (key named analytes in the Solvent Emissions Directive).

Protea's Operations Director, Steve Hall says "Gaining MCERTS and UKAS accreditation for the use of FTIR in periodic monitoring is a huge step forward, not only for Protea, but for the technology itself. We are the first company in the UK to receive such an accreditation and it shows that the standards can be successfully applied to stack testing. We hope that this development will allow us to more effectively serve and support our customers."

All of the above analytes can be measured simultaneously and continuously using Protea's own Protir 104M FTIR analyser helping to minimise on site time and costs.

Enabling Protea to provide a complete monitoring service, accreditation has also been received for total VOC's by BS EN 13526 and for pressure temperature and velocity by BS EN 13284-1.
